Hotel dates back to 1888 when the Austrian brewery owner Reininghaus built a sanatorium “Dr. Schwarz”, which was soon renamed to “Quisisana”. Besides being the oldest sanatorium in Opatija, which was at that time a renowned spa, the first pharmacy in Opatija was also located there.Since its beginnings, when it hosted the upper classes, nobility and even members of the imperial family, up to the present time when Hotel Opatija successfully meets the needs of modern guests, it has adapted to the demands of the periods and needs of the guests, identifying itself with the city whose name it carries proudly.
